On Friday night, Tyler's family came up to spend two nights with us. It's always great to have them around and Caleb loves spending quality time with them. It's hard to know that part of our family is so far away, but the times we do spend together are special and we certainly don't take it for granted. It's neat to see how they react each time they see him after several months of not seeing him. As parents we see him everyday and often don't notice how much he's truly changing. All in all, we always love having them and wish we could see them more often. As you can tell from the pictures, Caleb also REALLY enjoys having fun with his grandparents and wishes they were here more often as well.

A Few of Caleb's Favorites
Although Caleb has been a little bit of a crabster lately (thanks to some serious teething) he's still managed to put a smile on our faces time and time again. For being crabby with the teething, he's still pretty happy a majority of the time. Over the past few weeks of ups and downs, we've started to notice a few more of Caleb's favorite things that keep him happy and content:
2.Moving...he has to be on the move. Gone are the days of holding, snuggling, cuddling, etc. He's still not so sure of the whole walking thing. He's smart enough to realize that it might take effort to learn something new and it's just as easy to stick to what he does well...crawling!
3. Playing...he's started to become really interested in playing and modeling after what we do. If we show him a task, he likes to mimic it. Tyler decided it would be fun to teach him how to "save money". He learned how to put quarters into the piggy bank. You've got to start somewhere, right?!?
4.Eating...well, sort of. Caleb has a much bigger appetite than he did even a few weeks ago. Grandma has been introducing him to all sorts of new foods at her house and he's taken a liking to most of what he's tried: pancakes, french toast, eggs, grilled cheese, mac n cheese, muffins, and the list continues. Unfortunately, it seems like most of what we try to give him at home isn't such a hit. We've been trying to get him to eat more meat, but he really seems to like fruits and veggies so much more. With a lot of the new things, he just spits it right out and goes back to what he's used to and knows he likes...such as a giant pile of peas.
