Girls' Trip

Several months ago, when TiTi was thinking about how she wanted to spend her birthday, she came up with the grand plan of getting away for the long weekend. She decided to take a trip to North Carolina to visit the Fioccas (with a quick day trip to see Aunt D) and thought it would be special to bring Leah with. Leah was beyond thrilled about this trip and spent weeks preparing for it. She called home a few times while she was there, but definitely didn't miss us much! We love that TiTi has such a great bond with the kids and hope that they all realize just how lucky they are to have such an awesome aunt!

Sewer Extraordinaire

We aren't sure where Joel's passion for sewing came from and why he asked for a sewing machine for Christmas, but it sure has been fun to watch him take on a new hobby. He started with pillows, moved on to make his very own pair of fleece zebra pj pants, and his most recent project is an amazing blanket that he plans to enter in the 4H show this summer. He spent an entire afternoon and the following morning working on this project. It could've easily been spread out over several days or weeks, but when Joel gets him mind set on something, there is no stopping him!

Winter Getaway

The month of January always seems a bit long and mundane. This year was especially rough because I was recovering from shingles. It took over a month to finally taper off all the meds and feel back to normal. I was thankful to have had no lasting issues, but definitely wouldn't want to go through it again! To celebrate the end of a loooooooong month, we decided that a quick family getaway would be a nice idea. We booked an AirBnB just south of Milwaukee. The house was super fun....had a great pool table and a giant projector screen in the basement. Tyler and the kids spent several hours skiing at a local park. I didn't want to risk having any more health hazards, so I just went and watched! We also made another tip to Sprechers Brewery like we did last year when we ventured up to Wisconsin. The pop and beverages were just as delicious this year! Overall, it was a great weekend filled with plenty of quality family time :)
