The Latest News on Life at the Sturm Home

It's been quite a busy month. Leah will be four weeks old tomorrow and exactly a month old on Saturday. We can't believe how quickly time is flying by. Some days are longer than others (and some nights feel like an eternity). We're making the best of it all though and enjoying every bit of our expanded family. There are plenty of pictures to document the fairly uneventful events of the past few weeks.

RECREATION NEWS:

We pretty much spend our days indoors avoiding the cold and snow. Caleb still loves reading and has also developed a huge interest in tv. Clifford, Handy Manny, and Diego have become Mommy's new pals as they are a great way to keep the little man occupied while tending to the little girl. Leah likes to spend a lot of her time sleeping during the day. That gives Mommy and Caleb time to hang out, play, make dinner, bake treats, and have fun. It also gives Mommy time to deal with addressing the growing issue of whining, tantrums, and crabbiness that our soon-to-be "terrible twos" child has developed.

GRANDPARENT NEWS:

We really enjoyed a visit in the middle of January from Grandpa and Grandma Sturm. They (along with Auntie Kalyn) spent a long weekend with us. Caleb had so much fun and really missed them when they left. We're so excited that Grandma Sue is planning to come visit us more often since she has more time on the weekends to travel up here. We've also enjoyed spending a lot of quality time with Grandpa and Grandma Lamont. With Daddy being so busy at work, we've managed to spend a lot of time at their house and have enjoyed all their help. Caleb loves to play Wii with Grandpa and Leah loves to snuggle with Grandma. Mommy just enjoys the freedom to rest and relax for a bit!

BATHROOM NEWS:

Yep, there's even news to be shared about the bathroom. Caleb surprised us a few weeks ago and asked to go on the potty. We honestly have not made much of an effort to potty train, so we didn't expect much when he sat down. Sure enough, he shocked us both and went #1 and #2 on the potty. He hasn't done anything since then, but it's nice to know he gets the concept! On another note, Leah is starting to enjoy baths more and more. She screamed the first few times, but is managing to find the warm water more relaxing each time she gets bathed. We can't wait until the two can be plopped in the tub together...giving two separate baths is getting pretty old!
