After a busy (almost) two weeks of road tripping, our kids managed to get home, unpack, and repack for a full week at church camp. Monday morning rolled around and they headed off on the big church busses to Breakaway Camp. The group had about 25 kids from our church, but they joined together with hundreds of other kids for an incredible week. Most of the daytime was spent competing in various games and activities against other teams. The Journey Youth kids were part of the orange team and they worked together all week to try to be crowned church camp champs. Apparently, some of our youth have been attending this camp for many, many years and have never been on a team that wins the whole thing. Well, fortunately for them, the youth group has grown quite a bit and now has a lot of very competitive kids! At the end of the week, the orange team left with a victory! Even though that was a huge part of the week, the most impactful part was the time spent in worship and teaching. All three kids grew so much in their faith in just one week and it was amazing to hear all about how God touched their hearts. Our church dedicated an entire Sunday service to the campers and they got to share about how God worked in their lives at Breakaway Camp. We were in tears as we watched our three share their stories and are so thankful that they had this amazing opportunity to go to camp.
