Happy Birthday/First Father's Day

It's just about the halfway point between Tyler's 25th birthday (June 1) and his first Father's Day (June 15). In honor of my wonderful husband, I'd like to spend a few minutes bragging about why he is the best guy a girl could ever ask for!

Since the moment we met, Tyler has made my life a million times happier than I could've ever imagined. Anyone who is lucky enough to spend even a few hours with him knows that he is one of the most upbeat, positive, and fun people in the world. If there is ever a time when I feel down, Tyler is sure to bring me back up! He sees the best in everything and everyone. He often has such a childlike innocence and has learned to appreciate the simple things in life. This could possibly be attributed to the fact that he grew up in such a small town and had no other choice than to be satisfied by the most basic things. However, I think it's just a part of his wonderful nature and even though he's turned into a true suburbanite, he is still a country boy at heart.

Tyler is also a very hard worker and puts his all into everything he does. When given a task, he does it to the fullest. Since moving into our house only six months ago, he has done so much work. What he has accomplished in this short amount of time is more than most families get done in the entire time they live in one particular house. During the cold winter months he painted, changed hardware, installed light fixtures, replaced every outlet in the house, and the list goes on and on. Now that the weather is nice, he has spent tons of time on the lawn, brought our pool back to life, ripped out every piece of landscaping in the front yard, fixed the landscaping on the side of our house, and he continues to do more and more each day.

All the while, Tyler manages to find time and energy (which is sometimes hard to do with narcolepsy) to give to his family. He still refers to Chesney as Baby Ches and takes her for walks and runs every so often. He also enjoys having her jump into bed after I wake up so he can cuddle with her. He continues to make me feel like the luckiest girl in the world even though our life together has changed from being just a couple to being a couple of parents. He still manages to surprise me every so often with cute gifts and cards and even brings me flowers from time to time. He often takes time during his busy day just to call and chat and see how my day is going. He knows just how to read my thoughts and feelings and does whatever he can to make me happy. And lately, I have had the joy of watching Tyler in his new role as a dad. I never doubted for a second that he wouldn't be a wonderful parent, but he has gone way beyond wonderful. He is incredibly helpful...even with those tasks that nobody enjoys like dirty diapers, late night feedings, and random crying that has no rhyme or reason. He is incredibly loving...he's always holding, playing with, talking to, singing to, laughing with, and smiling at Caleb. I can tell that Caleb just adores his daddy and I look forward to watching that father/son relationship blossom with time.

So, I could clearly go on and on about my wonderful husband...but I'm sure he wouldn't want this much attention in the first place. I couldn't have asked God for a better person to spend my life with. He is a true man of God and lives out his faith to the fullest. I am so blessed to have him and can't wait to spend many more birthdays and Father's Days with him!
