The Weekend in Pictures

It's so nice to finally be off for the summer! I have so much more time to enjoy our little guy...and much more time to stay updated on everything else in life (including this blog)! This past weeked, we had a fun time hanging out with family and enjoying the wonderful weather.

On Friday, we hung out with Grandpa, Grandma, and Auntie Tracy. Caleb has so much fun with them and it is always great to see how my family interacts with him. As you can tell by the pictures, he was having a lot of fun being "spoiled" (Tyler does not like to use that word) with attention. Grandpa enjoyed spending time explaining golf to Caleb as they watched the U.S. Open together. I'm sure someday Caleb will enjoy getting to play golf with his grandpa. However, my dad is pretty convinced Caleb won't have time for golf because he'll be too busy sitting in a tree stand for hours while he freezes his butt off waiting for deer. If it's up to Tyler, that will definitely become the preferred pasttime. Although Tyler has tried golf, it's just not as successful for him as hunting is!

On Saturday, we finally got to enjoy our pool! Tyler and the wonderful Josh Quigley spend the entire morning running electricity out into the middle of our yard so that our pump can be plugged in without having to run an extension cord to the house. While they worked hard, we put on our swimsuits and enjoyed the weather and water. Caleb tried it out, but wasn't such a fan. We're hoping once the water warms up a bit more he'll give it another try. He's a little fish at bathtime, so I'm sure it won't be long before he takes a serious interest in the giant bathtub in our backyard! Anyhow, we had fun with our company while Caleb napped for almost 4 hours that afternoon.

On Saturday night, Tyler finally stopped working in the yard (which I think he'd been doing with every minute of his free time since about two weeks ago). My mom and dad were nice enough to take Caleb for the night so that we could go on a date and finally enjoy some quality time together. We loved being able to sleep in a little bit longer. It was a wonderful way for Tyler to start his first Father's Day. After going to church we spent the afternoon out in Indiana with family. Caleb had fun visiting with his family and can't wait to get a bit older so he can play with his darling twin cousins James and Jacob. Until then, he's just enjoying getting tons of attention as the baby of the family...which will soon change when James and Jacob get their new brother or sister at the end of the year (we can't wait)!

Chesney enjoyed her weekend with all of the company on Saturday. She loves having her new fence so that she can spend hours playing outside when Allie, Ginger, and Hoover come to visit. She's also starting to take a very big interest in her little brother. Soon enough she'll be out in the yard being chased by Caleb!

One final highlight from the weekend has to do with our little boy's growing interest in naptime! After a couple months of being very difficult with napping, he's starting to fall into a pretty good routine of taking longer naps. It's really helped him with his sleeping at night and he's always waking up a much happier boy in the morning. We love when he wakes up smiling and cooing. I'm also enjoying the fact that I can count on a few hours during the day to get other things done!
